William Arnold Woodhouse
1857 - 1935
A Lancashire artist born near Morecambe, Woodhouse rarely left the area where he was born. He worked in both oil and watercolour, and developed a soft, realistic style that was well suited to the depiction of animals.He contributed many works to the Lancashire Art Exhibitions and exhibited works at the Royal Academy from 1889, and also at the Royal Society of Artists and the Royal Institute.
